27 week 6 day belly shot.

I don't think I'm faking it. I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant. What do you think?

Holy crap! I'm going to take pictures weekly until the babies arrive. It's amazing to see the growth and the stretch marks don't even bother me. Don't worry, the stretch mark pictures will only be used in my scrapbook.....

Tomorrow is my birthday. Not sure what I'm going to do, since I'm on my own.....but I should start making the pages for the babies weekly and monthly pictures (as I receive a kick from baby girl in agreement). I have the albums and supplies, just need to get started. It should be fairly quick, once I figure out what paper I'll use for each album. I found one pink and one blue album at Big Lots a while ago that will work perfect...they are 6x6 albums, so perfect for one snapshot on each page!

Chad returns home from work travel late Friday night, so we will celebrate on Saturday. I think we will have a nice lunch at Cheesecake Factory, then shop for a suit for Chad. He's been needing a new one and there is one he likes in the Bachrach catalog, so we will take a look at it! I ordered a yummy Dairy Queen cake for us to enjoy Saturday night. I even ordered early enough to have a double layer of fudge and crunchies added. That's the best part, in my opinion! Chad likes the frosting, so I asked for lots of flowers! Should be yummy....not sure what we will enjoy for our dinner Saturday night, but I know dessert will be a hit!

My next doctor appointment is on Monday. I thought I would have an ultrasound with that appointment, but it wasn't scheduled...but I'm curious to see how baby girl is growing. Oh well, it could always be scheduled later in the week. I know Chad wants to go to the ultrasound, so will try to get a time when he's able to be there!

I washed all the baby clothes earlier this week and am organizing by size. It's amazing how many clothes these little buggers have! But, will it be enough???? Who knows! I'll take pictures of the nursery as it is being put together........slow but sure it's getting there! Right now it looks like a disaster with the clothes all over...but hopefully I'll get those into baskets and the closet soon!

I'll leave you with a pretty amazing bit of baby development info I read in the Enfamil newsletter......
Equally amazing, your baby already smells things from inside the womb. Whatever you breathe in or eat, she can smell. When she enters the world and is put into your arms for the first time, she will know who you are by your scent.
Amazing, huh???

Ok, that's enough boring stuff for now.......

Eik! Cankles!

I knew the day would arrive when I had cankles....Chad even congratulated me when they arrived. Luckily, since I've been taking it much easier this week, the swelling is significantly down. Guess it was my body's way of telling me to chill out!

26 week 6 day belly shot.

I took this last week and finally had a chance to upload the pictures from my digital camera. What would we do without digital????
And don't worry....I do not leave the house wearing this get-up! I have a shirt that covers my lumps and bumps nicely when I leave the house.

Belly quakes.....

Certainly, they are nothing like earth quakes.....but I can see baby movement from the outside. I was sitting on the couch, contemplating getting up (which is becoming a feat in itself) and felt some pretty good kicking. I pull up my shirt, and low and behold, I see skin movement above the area of the kick. My next goal is to have Julio the Cat try to "catch" the belly movement. He's quite fond of trying to catch movement when it's under the blanket and has been known to attack unprovoked before......
I'll share pictures tomorrow, promise! I plan to take my late 27 week photos tomorrow after noon and will be taking photos weekly until delivery. I'll be a house before we know it!

Bad blogger.

I know....I'm sitting in the corner with my nose to the wall. I honestly did not realize it had been this long since I've updated my adoring blog fans. Well, here goes.....

I passed by glucose tolerance test on Monday! I'm quite surprise and almost expected to fail, but somehow, my glucose levels stayed within limits. So glad I do not have to drink the sickeningly sweet lemon-lime glucola again.

I do need to REGULARLY take my iron supplements. My hemoglobin is still low. It's actually higher than it was prior to becoming pregnant, but do not want it to drop any lower. So, I will be taking it three times a week to beef up my blood supply. Actually, considering that my blood volume has tripled with the twins, it's pretty impressive to increase 0.4 grams/dL! We have to look on the bright side, don't we?

The babies are moving a TON! It feels like they are having their very own ultimate cage fight. Baby boy is along my left side, last position per ultrasound was head down. Baby girl is along my right side, last position butt down. Not sure if anyone has flipped, but with all the movement it's certainly possible! A few nights ago. I felt one limp punching my left lower side and a different limb punching my right upper side! Chad has even been able to feel some movement, too. Most of the baby movement is felt right on my bladder (tap, tap, tap....or is it bounce, bounce, bounce?) or my upper mid-belly. It's hard to tell who is moving more....just feels like they are both moving some times!

My blood pressure is creeping up. At my doctor appointment on Monday, it started out at 138/88 with a recheck of 132/78. At home it's been running in the 130/70's....but has been creeping up. Hopefully this won't lead to pre-eclampsia, but I do know it's a possibility. Luckily, my urine was clear, so nothing is spilling into that.

The nursery is slowly coming together. We have one crib and need to get one more. The changing table is put together, waiting to be paint (either white or chocolate brown). I've been loading up on diapers. I received a great coupon for Luvs, buy one mega pack, get one free, plus a three dollar coupon in addition to the free coupon....I purchased quite a few packs for either $4.50 or $3.50 each. Can't beat that deal! I do need to get more before the coupons expire.....

Chad and I are heading out on our last big weekend drive trip. We are going to a graduation party for his niece. Actually two of his nieces and one nephew all graduated from high school this year, but this is the only weekend we were able to travel. It will be nice to get out and see his family again before the babies arrive! We are looking forward to relaxing and chilling out, too.

My laptop is in for repairs, but will try to update with pictures next week. I PROMISE! I'll take a belly shot today (27 weeks). I can't believe the pregnancy is on the downswing.......seems like we just had the first ultrasound at 8 weeks a few days ago!

New belly shot and I'm a lucky, lucky girl!

Here is a 24 week, 3 day belly shot. Not sure if there is much difference, but my umbilicus is definitely getting more shallow! I now wish I had been measuring my waist to actually see the numbers. Oh well.

I went to a Baby Shower at the local Children's Museum tonight. Aside from the walking, it was a great time! I was even lucky enough to win a diaper bag filled with baby essentials. I had a pick between a pink and blue bag...and decided on the blue bag. Such tough decisions......

I also was lucky enough to win a prize on a scrappy blog I visit. I had my choice of either a baby boy or baby girl packet for the prize. Well, I told the person sending the prize that either would work, as I'm expecting both, so it doesn't matter! She responded that she would send me both packets. How lucky is that? I can't wait to enjoy the new scrappy stuff from Cloud 9.

That's about it from me......
Until later,
Jennie

Long time no post.......

Sorry it's been so long since I've last posted. Things have been moving right alone. Somehow, I've slipped past 24 weeks of pregnancy!

My sister, Laura, and her family are visiting us. They arrived on Sunday and will stay until Wednesday morning. It's been great to see them. It's amazing how much her girls have grown. Right now, they are downtown at the local zoo. Hopefully they are able to enjoy the animals, even though it's been raining. I loaded them up with umbrellas and rain jackets.

My seasonal allergies have kicked in. I think being pregnant has made it worse than normal. Each time we move, I dread the time when my body realizes new substances to react to. I know most of my allergies are trees......Luckily I can take Claritin and Benadryl. I need to hold off on Sudafed, as my blood pressure is creeping up......hopefully my body will adjust to the extra allergens soon and I can stop breathing through my mouth. Not sure it's possibly, but I'm snoring even LOUDER at night. My poor husband. I've been sleeping on my left side more, which is of course facing him.....he's such a lucky guy!

I had my 24 week doctor appointment and ultrasound yesterday. The ultrasound technician was wonderful and even verified the sex of both babies, with pictures! So I have Baby Boy's first penis picture! Poor guy. Unfortunately, Baby Girl is behind in her growth. She weight 500 or so grams, while Baby Boy weight 71o grams. She's at 25% for gestational age, he's at 50% for gestational age. My doctor is not terribly concerned at this point. In asking what I could do to help, she told me to keep laying on my left side and drinking water, water, and more water. I can definitely do that. I'm due for my next ultrasound to check growth at 28 weeks. Luckily, my cervix is still a good length at 3.4cm. Baby Boy is head down, Baby Girl is breech. The technician could not tell if Boy or Girl was presenting....we shall see! I need to take 24 week pictures soon....before it gets to 25 weeks......It's been on my list to do this week.

I'm now a mini-van driving momma......we've finally come to the realization that it's going to be the easiest to use with the babies. Chad and I headed up to Carmax last Wednesday after finding a van that looked great on paper. It was super clean, drove great, and for the most part, had the options we were looking for. We ended up driving it away after two hours at the dealer. the best part? They took my car in as trade and offered us more than we would have ever gotten had we sold it ourselves. I'm now the driver of a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country.

Chad painted the nursery on Saturday. It's a great sage green color. Once I add the chocolate brown accents, I think it's going to look amazing! I need to sew curtains, cover the lamp shade and add things to the wall, along with getting clothes washed and organized.....the babies will be here before we know it!

OK, I need to shower and run a few quick errands. We are grilling out steaks tonight and I want to pick up a Dairy Queen cake to celebrate "Happy Everything". I miss out on birthdays, promotions, etc....so thought it would be fun to have a group celebration tonight. What better way to do it than with a Dairy Queen cake?

I'll share pictures soon.....
